Iceland is famous for their geothermal hot springs, especially the Blue Lagoon. Also worth checking out is Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa in the Columbia River Gorge separating the states of Oregon and Washington. Not only is there breathtaking Gorge scenery to be enjoyed, but there are also rustic yet upscale bath house and a welcoming spa to delight in.

When you’re ready for some sun and fun that doesn’t involve snow flakes, it can be a challenge to escape the crowds. I’ll always aim for a highly-personalized experience for every one of the trips I plan with you, but here’s one secret I don’t mind getting out. The Christmas markets of Europe make delightful winter getaways. Many of the River Cruise company’s offer special Holiday cruises in December. Check out Passau, Salzburg and Vienna and see some of the best Christmas markets and handicrafts around. Stay in buildings built in medieval times, but updated to refined modern taste. It’s a pre-holiday trip that can definitely be worth taking.
